hello.

I originally hail from North Devon (yes, proud southerner). I relocated up to Ambleside in the Lake District in 2005. As much as I loved the coast, it was the pull of mountains and climbing that brought me up to the Lakes. I previously studied Graphic Design and IT at college and as much as I wanted to pursue this at university, I couldn’t resist the opportunity of moving up to the Lake District and embarking on what was quite simply, the unknown. Whilst living in the Lakes I carried on my further education of Graphic Design at Kendal College around full-time work, taking on little projects as and when I could.

Three years ago, I started a wedding stationery design business. This allowed for my love of illustration and design to be offered to a slightly different audience than what I was used to working with. Based upon the success of this, I made one of my scariest but most exciting decisions to date. I decided to pursue my true love of Graphic Design and Illustration and start up Rooted Graphic Design.

I still live in the Lake District National Park, now near Ullswater, with my husband Bryan, who works as a Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, along with our Golden Retriever, Sam. Mountains and crags are right on our doorstep and I couldn’t feel any luckier.

My passion and expertise lies in creating thorough and honest design. I use what I have and where I live to think differently, work differently, and build a life that is joyful and ever-changing. As a creative thinker, I want to look beyond what is the 'norm'.
